Finnish Optimist Dinghy Association FODA is in charge of the regulation and development of the Optimist sailing in Finland.

​

The object of the Optimist class is to provide racing for young people at low cost.
 

The objects of the Association are:

- to promote Optimist sailing in Finland
- to see that the Class Rules are observed
- to co-ordinate youth work with other classes and with IODA
- to establish conditions for Finnish Ranking Series and Open Finnish Championships and to choose the venues.
